I've been on the market for a chair for my "office" since I bought myself a laptop and redecorated the guest room, renaming it my "office". But finding a classy and cheap chair was a challenge. It took me a couple of months until I came across this dusty treasure at a local thrift store for $5. I headed to the local Habitat for Humanity Re-Store and bought paint for $1. Then to the fabric store where I bought a new pad and fabric. It only took me a couple of hours to sand, and paint (2 coats) the chair. Then, only a couple of minutes to pad and reupholster.
It was a simple project, which inspired me to redo another little gem I found recently, an old ice box. I was on a roll, until the weather decided to warm up, then start burning, so now my ice box is on hold until it cools down. In the meantime, I can sit in my cool office and write more posts.
