I love brunch. I like the idea of eating later, of eating more, and eating savory foods. This past weekend, we hosted a last-minute brunch. I made a frittata, a chopped salad, homemade salsas, and the most refreshing cocktails, with St. Germain and club soda. And of course there was almond champagne. Because brunch is not brunch without champagne.
There are apparently tons and tons of cocktail recipes using St. Germain. I feel ashamed, as a daughter of a former bartender, that I did not know about this liqueur. But now that I know, I am in love. It's fresh and fragrant and delicious.
Recently, I've come across various recipes using the liqueur, but the one that caught my eye was the simplest. Club soda. A splash of St. Germain. A squeeze of lemon. To fancy up my drinks, I used ice cubes with frozen blueberries and strawberries. The drink is refreshing and light, perfect for brunch. Or after brunch. Or for sipping while I lounge on my new pool lounger. No, we don't have a pool, but don't judge me, I'm a fan of lounging.
